Soulja Boy wants y'all to put some respect on his name.
During an interview with "The Breakfast Club," the "Thru The City" rapper boldly claimed that he made Drake and then proceeded to provide the so-called receipts to back it up.
After Charlamagne tha God called Drake "the biggest rapper in the world," Soulja had a full-blown conniption. "Draaaaaaake? Draaaaaaaaake," he said in a disbelieving tone. "The ni**a that got bodied by Pusha T? The ni**a that hiding his kid from the world, but his world want to hide from the kid? Aubrey Graham in a wheelchair? Draaaaaake? Yâall ni**as better stop playing with me man. Yâall talking about the lightskin ni**a from Degeneres," Soulja said, meaning to reference Drake's breakout role on the show Degrassi. "Stop playing with me. Stop playing me like I ainât teach Drake everything he know. Yâall ainât hear Drake on his first song?"
Soulja then proceeded to sing the lyrics to Drake's 2010 track "Miss Me," claiming that the Canadian rapper stole the first bars from his 2007 track "What's Hannenin." "'Tell me whatâs really going on Drizzy Drake back in this thing already whatâs hapâ," Soulja started to sing. "Thatâs Soulja! Thatâs my bar. He copied my whole f**king flow. He copied my whole f**king flow. Word for word. Bar for bar. Donât act like I didnât make Drake, ni**a."
While Soulja didn't provide further proof of Drake's alleged copying of his flow, following his "Breakfast Club" interview, he posted audio from both his and Drake's songs to Instagram, which he captioned: "Case closed. Drake been stealing my drip for yearsâŒïžđ€·đŸââïž."
For reference â the first bars of Soulja's "Whats Hannenin" song are: "Man, tell me, what's really goin' on? Soulja Boy up in this thing, I'm ready What's hannenin'?" And the first bars of Drake's "Miss Me" are: "I said Tell me what's really goin' on 'Drizzy back up in this thing, I'm ready, what's hannenin''?"
