'American Idol' Hopeful Genavieve Linkowski's Positivity Will Inspire You

Aspiring singer Genavieve Linkowski is taking another shot at her dream on American Idol. The 20-year-old songstress returned to Idol this season and her positivity is contagious.

As Ryan Seacrest shared on-air on Friday, March 27, Genavieve lost her sister to a car crash but she didn’t let the tragedy dim her light. In fact, she shared with judges Katy Perry, Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie during her audition that she’s chasing her dream for her sister.

“Honestly I felt like the pressure was even more on because I feel like I have to deliver even more to keep going,” Genavieve told Seacrest on-air while discussing Idol’s forthcoming Sunday episode, which was shot in Hawaii before the devastating COVID-19 pandemic.

Watch her audition again above and listen back to her chat with Seacrest for more.

Catch American Idol on ABC on Sundays at 8/7c.
