Megan Thee Stallion Heats Up BET Awards With 'Savage' & 'Girls In The Hood'

Megan Thee Stallion took the BET Awards to the desert.

Hot Girl Meg set the bar on Sunday (June 28) at the annual awards ceremony with an atmospheric performance of two of her hottest tracks.

Whisking viewers from their couches at home to an open, desert-like landscape, Meg and her group of all-female backup dancers break out into sexy, sassy choreography to the sounds of “Girls in the Hood.” Afterward, Meg and her crew hop onto their four-wheelers to hit the stage for an energetic performance of “Savage” with remixed ad-libs and verses from Beyonce, who unfortunately did not make a special appearance during the show.

The 25-year-old emcee unveiled her latest music project, Suga, on March 6, which features not only “Savage” but also fan-favorite tracks like “Captain Hook” and “B.I.T.C.H.”

Meg’s BET Awards presentation celebrates the live-debut performance of “Girls in the Hood,” which pays homage to the late West Coast legend Eazy-E and samples from Eazy’s dope 1987 classic “Boyz-N-Tha-Hood.”

Prior to performing, Meg claimed the award for Best Female Hip-Hop Artist, beating out Nicki Minaj, Doja Cat, and Cardi B. Collectively, the Houston rapper is nominated for five categories including Album of the Year for Fever, Viewer’s Choice Award, Best Collaboration and Video of the Year for “Hot Girl Summer.”
